Secret ghosts have been in Virtual Scotland since the first S.C.O.T.C.H. agents arrived there, but the inferior camera equipment available at that time did not enable agents to see or capture images of these ghosts.
Recent improvements in cameras, lenses, and flash equipment now enable agents to see and occasionally capture images of these ghosts. However, being able to take good pictures of these ghosts is a learned skill.
Cameras are needed to attract secret ghosts. There are several categories of secret ghosts: vintage ghosts, ultraviolet ghosts, rhombus-red ghosts, infrayellow ghosts, gauss-green ghosts and beta-ray blue ghosts. There are even some secret ghosts that do not have a preferred color of light: they just need you to have a camera in your active setup.
You must equip a camera that uses the correct color of light (built-in to the camera or added by the S.C.O.T.C.H. agent) to capture the image of the secret ghost you want.
Currently this index does not include the vintage secret ghosts.
