Party ghosts first show themselves in Castle McWallace in region 2 Borders.

Party ghosts can then be found in all the Borders and Strathclyde locations. Party ghosts are also found in region 4 Lothian (Kirkyard Morgue and Duke Leyton Library), in region 5 Fife, and in region 6 Central.

Attracting the party ghosts

Party ghosts, as their name suggests, really like to party. They are primarily attracted by mocktails, many of which have an attraction level of Partylicious.

Particularly in region 4 Lothian and region 5 Fife, party ghosts can also be attracted with Whisperwind — green or with Glengreen — blue, or with Nessy's Golden Reserve, but our best recommendation continues to be:

If you're trying to attract R2 or R3 party ghosts, use mocktails as your bait.
In R4 and R5, the party ghosts will be attracted by almost any bait; you must experiment to find what works best for you.

Patience

Most of the party ghosts are reluctant to show themselves, and it may take you a long time to entice one into your trap. Patience, as always, is key. This is another place where Ghost Trappers will remind you of the importance of luck and chance in the game.

Also remember that you may use mocktails as bait and still not attract a party ghost. This is normal and happens to everyone.

Attraction bonuses

Some companions and contracts have an attraction bonus. If you are having problems attracting a particular party ghost, adding such a companion or contract to your set-up may help you attract the party ghost.

Locating and setting up to catch party ghosts

Many players wonder where to find the party ghosts and what to do when they want to trap them.

Locations

In each hunting ground in R2 and R3 there are two different party ghosts you can catch: for example, Castle McWallace has the Disco ghost and its midnight counterpart the Saturday night ghost.

In all locations in R2, you can also find the Heartbreaking temptress ghost, a special ghost that can be attracted and caught in the same way the party ghosts are, and that counts as a party ghost for special missions.

R3 has its own special ghost: the Green-eyed Temptress. Again, follow the same guidelines as for R3 party ghosts to catch the Green-eyed Temptress.

Trap set-ups to help catch party ghosts

To catch the party ghosts for each hunting ground you'll need a strong trap for that hunting ground, since the party ghosts are among the strongest ghosts at each location...

To have a better chance of capturing:

A special note about the Ghost Magnet mechanism

The Ghost magnet paired with the Black candle circle will work fine to catch party ghosts before Castle McKenny. That combo will not help you catch the Succubus ghost and the Seducing succubus ghost or any of the R3 party or special ghosts.
