Mystic temptresses belong to a secret ghost society. Only the most powerful and paranoid agents are able to trap her.

If you want to catch the Mystic temptress, you need to have a mystic power of at least 100.

The mystic temptress can be captured in all non-raiding locations:

During haunted weeks or other special events, the mystic temptress can also be captured in all of the then open special event locations:

Haunted week special event locations

Celebration week special event locations

The mystic temptress has been known to occasionally drop one or more of the following items of ghost loot:

Mystic resistance

The mystic temptress is resistant to mystic power.

Mystic-resistant ghosts have three primary types:

  • Ghosts that can be caught with a strong raw-power setup
  • Ghosts that can only be caught with a combination of willpower (to overcome their mystic resistance) and high mystic power
  • Ghosts that require brute force in your setup to activate before they can be caught

Use a high mystic power, high willpower setup when you are trying to catch the Mystic temptress.

Brute force may also strengthen your setup when you are trying to catch the Mystic temptress.

Strategy suggestions

Mystic power

As noted above, you need high mystic power (100 or more in total) in your setup to be able to attract and catch a mystic temptress. Fortunately, not all that mystic power needs to come from your mechanism and magic circle.

The mystic power page lists all non-mechanism/non-magic circle sources of mystic power to help you identify other sources you can add (or already have) in your setup.

Collections and accessories are often forgotten sources of mystic power. So is the talent tree bonus noted below, and the occasional single-hunt small bump of mystic power that you can get from the superbuff stat.

"High" mystic power

See the mystic power page for a more general discussion of what players usually mean when they talk about high mystic.

Talent tree effect

The crucible talent on the buster talent tree can be used to supplement the mystic power your normal setup provides, by adding 10 mystic power to your setup for each point you put into the talent. In total, this talent gives you a chance to add 10, 20, or 30 mystic power to your setup if you choose to use it.

Mystic resistance

The mystic temptress is also resistant to mystic power at the same time that it requires high mystic power to attract.

Because of this, most players prefer to use a setup that is high in mystic power (to attract the ghost) and high in willpower (to overcome mystic resistance) when they are hunting it. Willpower is the stat that ignores the mystic resistance of particular ghosts: see its page for a list of the items that can help boost your willpower in action.

Different players swear by different bait. All of the baits in the list below have relatively high attraction ratings.

And, in fact, different players can use the same bait and have wildly different results. This list is not definitive! It merely lists some of the more common bait choices players have used when hunting for the mystic temptress. You need to experiment and see what works for you!

Some players have also reported success using Highland pride as their bait, despite its low attraction rating.

Test the baits listed above. If they don't work for you, try something like green goddess or meteor storm.

In the end, personal preferences and your own experience will be the biggest influences on your bait choice.
