Soft, fluffy and sweet, sweet, sweet .... exactly what it takes to lure those ghosts in your traps, all you have to do is to remember not to eat them yourself!


The marshmallow candles magic circle adds the followiing stats to your trap setup:

  • a two-bottle increase in the amount of bait used (burner)
  • 1 eagle eye, increasing your chances of selecting the hat that conceals the golden ball in the Gambling mini-game

Efficiency (bait usage)

The marshmallow candles magic circle is a burner that uses two additional bottles of bait for each hunt.

You can combine the marshmallow candles magic circle with other burners or anti-burners to adjust the number of bottles you will use each hunt.

Burner use and strategy

Dealing with the burner aspect of the marshmallow candles magic circle is a perfect example of the kinds of choices and trade-offs you must make throughout Virtual Scotland.

There is no correct answer — there is simply the choice that benefits your current goals the most (or the choice that minimizes the amount of pain you feel watching bait disappear). It's all a matter of taste and your current goals.

Many people prefer to use cheaper bait with the marshmallow candles magic circle. They tend to see burner components as an occasional necessary evil.

The marshmallow candles magic circle must be assembled with the help of Dr Elizabeth Grimely and her minions in the Laboratory outposts of S.C.O.T.C.H. HQ located in all normal, non-raiding locations in Virtual Scotland (which includes any of the Alien visitors locations, and any spider den or trapdoor locations).

With mechanisms

The marshmallow candles is a magic circle and can be used with any type of trap mechanism.


The marshmallow candles magic circle along with a mechanism can be modified by using any contract available (but not all conracts work with all types of mechanisms!) The contracts that can be used with any type of trap mecahnism and are referred to as magic circle contracts are shown here:


  • 5 December 2016: The marshmallow candles mechanism first appeared, in outline form, in the office at S.C.O.T.C.H. HQ.
  • 19 December 2016: The first molding parts parts required to assemble the marshmallow candles magic circle were dropped as loot.
