No theft risk

There is no risk that the galactic ooze will steal GTP (£££), XP, bait, or ghost plasma if you fail to catch it.

Mechanics and strategy

Xeno plasma     Flying pan     Alien pumpkin     Sizzling saucer

Plasma and cauldrons

Use xeno plasma and one of the alien or xeno cauldrons shown here to try to attract the galactic ooze.

Attraction

The galactic ooze:

  • is attracted to your trap by the presence of galaxy glow

Friend assistance

Catching a galactic ooze monster requires the assistance of many friends—40 friends (minus any benefits you gain from having the monsterslayer stat bonus in your setup. Once enough friends have assisted you, you will see that you have caught the galactic ooze monster after the next hunt that you start.

You must start the hunt; the galactic ooze will not appear after a friend-led hunt or a normal auto-hunt.

Additional information

Location

The galactic ooze can be captured throughout Virtual Scotland, in all of the normal, non-raiding locations. During special events, it can also be captured in certain of the special event locations, as shown below. The galactic ooze can be captured in spider dens, but not in any of the Alien visitors locations:

Haunted weeks

During Haunted weeks, the galactic ooze can be captured in:

Celebration weeks

During Celebration week special events, the galactic ooze can also be captured in:

Drops

The galactic ooze has been known to occasionally drop one or more of the following items of ghost loot:

Mockery loot

If you have the mockery stat in your setup (through the talent tree bonus or because of an accessory, companion or contract with the stat} you may occasionally have between 2 and 10 mocktails added to other loot drops from the galactic ooze. Because these mockery stat drops are so dependent on a player's individual setup and cannot be relied upon, none of the mocktails are included in the loot list above. The entire list of possible mocktails that may be dropped is on the mocktails page.

Mockery drops can be distinguished from a normal loot drop as follows:

A standard loot drop of a mocktail     5x Cherry bomb
A mockery loot drop of a mocktail     5 Devil driver
Snowflake loot

If you have the snowfall stat in your setup (because of a special item, companion or contract with the stat on it), the galactic ooze may occasionally and randomly drop you a snowflake as loot. Because these snowfall-driven drops are so dependent on a player's individual setup and cannot be relied upon, snowflake loot drops are not specifically included in the list above.

Vintage connoisseur loot

If you have the vintage connoisseur stat in your setup (through a special item, companion or contract with the stat} you may occasionally have between 2 and 10 bottles of a non-Nessy's loot potion or of Shadetouch blue or Shadetouch purple added to other loot drops from the galactic ooze. Because these connoisseur drops are so dependent on a player's individual setup and cannot be relied upon, none of the non-Nessy's loot potions involved are included in the loot list above. The entire list of possible bottles that can be dropped is found on the non-Nessy's loot potions page.

Both normal drops of a particular non-Nessy's loot potion and connoisseur drops of a particular loot potion show the same way in your journal:

16 x Shadetouch purple (10 bonus loot)

Counterparts

The galactic ooze is part of the alien monsters collection. The complete set of alien monsters includes:

Bait

Baits that might help attract the galactic ooze (because these baits will add galaxy glow to your setup) include:

History
