Doppelgänger is an attribute that can be associated with many aspects of your setup.
Doppelgänger is activated at the time you actually catch the monster, not when you initially attract-and-hold it.
In other words, switching to a high doppelgänger set up before you finish the monster can be an effective strategy. (This behavior is the opposite to the way and time loot chance multiplier is determined/used).
Chance for mission ghosts to count twice.
When doppelgänger activates during a mission you will see the following message:
Doppelgaenger: The ghost counts twice for the current mission.
Your progress: 14 of 30 ghosts
If doppelgänger activates when you catch a ghost for a mission and you are also looking for that ghost for a talent tree task, Ghost Trappers will automatically give you credit for two ghosts in both places.
Doppelgänger can also activate just on a ghost that will go towards completing a talent point-earning goal. Two ghosts instead of one will be credited to your account when this happens, but you will not see any acknowledgement in your journal.
Special circumstances: Raiding
Doppelgänger affects only a single player if they are on a raid when they gain doppelgänger. The entire raid unit does not benefit from this stat.
The doppelgänger attribute is associated with the following items in the game:
The doppelgänger bonus from the kiss collection II is added to any other doppelgänger bonuses you have in your setup. It does not affect your setup if you have no other sources of doppelgänger in that setup.
- 6 October 2011: The doppelgänger attribute is introduced to Ghost Trappers.
