Castle McCloud is your typical Scottish castle. Full of history ... a history of ghosts that is. The most common ghosts can be found here.
Follow the in-game tutorial to quickly learn the basic outline of how to play Ghost Trappers.
The special mythic-creature ghosts include such Nessy's-loving ghosts as Ghost Nessy, Banshee ghost, Cu Sith, Kelpie, Selkie, Glowing Ghost Nessy, Shrieking banshee ghost, Howling Cu Sith, Luring Kelpie, Moonlight Selkie, Glaistig ghost and Green glaistig ghost.
The monsters you may attract in Castle McCloud include the original monsters as well as the jurassic and dino monsters, the elemental monsters, the blood cauldron monsters, the sacred monsters (also known as the sacred monsters), the techno monsters, the alien monsters, and some golden monsters... whew! It's easier just to refer to the monsters.
Gift ghosts are ghosts you will only catch if a fellow agent sends one to you. The gift ghosts that are currently available and that can be caught in Castle McCloud include:
During the Christmas holiday season, the Christmas elf ghost is also available for friends to gift to other friends.
Seasonal special ghosts
Talent tree points
Each talent point you earn can be spent in one of the three talent trees to give you additional skills/powers.
Loot is occasionally dropped in Castle McCloud (and in all non-raiding locations) by the local ghosts, by special ghosts and by all of the ghost monsters (original, elemental, jurassic monsters, vampire lords and ladies, and the knights of the round table).
As experienced players, agents of S.C.O.T.C.H. hunting in Castle McCloud will recognize that which ghosts drop which loot can change without notice. If you have a loot drop not mentioned here, please let the wiki sysop know so that a correction can be made.
Plasma (of all sorts), chrono crystal fragments, magic potions (including Nessy's Golden Reserve), and some companions are all occasionally dropped here. See the loot page for information about the loot items that are widely available in Virtual Scotland.
If you have the mockery stat in your setup (through the talent tree bonus or because of an accessory, companion or contract with the stat} you may occasionally have between 2 and 10 mocktails added to other loot drops from the ghosts in Castle McCloud. Because these mockery stat drops are so dependent on a player's individual setup and cannot be relied upon, none of the mocktails are included in any loot lists for Castle McCloud. The entire list of possible mocktails that may be dropped is on the mocktails page.
Mockery drops can be distinguished from a normal loot drop as follows:
A standard loot drop of a mocktail 5x Cherry bomb A mockery loot drop of a mocktail 5 Devil driver
If you have the snowfall stat in your setup (because of an accessory, companion or contract with the stat), ghosts in Castle McCloud may occasionally and randomly drop you a snowflake as loot. Because these snowfall-driven drops are so dependent on a player's individual setup and cannot be relied upon, snowflake loot drops are not specifically included in any lists on this page or on the individual ghost pages.
Vintage connoissesur loot
If you have the vintage connoisseur stat in your setup (through an accessory, companion or contract with the stat} you may occasionally have between 2 and 10 bottles of a non-Nessy's loot potion or of Shadetouch blue or Shadetouch purple added to other loot drops in Castle McCloud. Because these connoisseur drops are so dependent on a player's individual setup and cannot be relied upon, none of the non-Nessy's loot potions involved are included in the loot list above. The entire list of possible bottles that can be dropped is found on the non-Nessy's loot potions page.
Both normal drops of a particular non-Nessy's loot potion and connoisseur drops of a particular loot potion show the same way in your journal:
16 x Shadetouch purple (10 bonus loot)
Castle McCloud-specific loot
Specific items of loot that are dropped in Castle McCloud include:
The following items that can be used to purchase items at Bayoushi's shop include:
The following schematics (camera parts) can be found in Castle McCloud :
The following souvenirs can be found in Castle McCloud:
S.C.O.T.C.H. HQ is an interesting place, with treasures to be found in many different corners of its outpost in Castle McCloud.
S.C.O.T.C.H. HQ has three floors that we have found (so far!). The First floor contains several basic (and important locations, the Bar, the Q-Section (where you can purchase mechanisms and cameras]], and the Laboratory. You can also (when you are feeling brave!) explore the 9th floor of S.C.O.T.C.H. HQ, where you can purchase items from Lady Ayumi Bayoushi's Shop, make trades with other players in the Tradepost, and visit the Training room to begin to add special talents to your setup.
The following bait can be purchased from Charles the Bartender at the S.C.O.T.C.H. Bar in Castle McCloud:
Professor Gadgeteer has the following mechanisms available for sale in Castle McCloud:
Professor Gadgeteer also has cameras available for purchase and is willing to assemble other cameras if you bring him the appropriate schematics. Here in Castle McCloud, you can assemble the toy camera and/or the Twin lens reflex camera if you have acquired the appropriate schematics.
Dr Elizabeth Grimely and her staff of mystic artists in Castle McCloud have the following magic circles available to power your ghost-trapping set-up:
|Magic circle||Power||Mystic power|
* Initial setup for new agents.
Assembled magic circles
You can also sometimes have Dr. Grimely and her minions help you assemble molding pieces into a new magic circle, including the Christmas candles.
From the Laboratory, you can also reach your incubator.
You can use ghost plasma to incubate (create) a new companion that can help you as you travel throughout Virtual Scotland and try to trap different kinds of ghosts. Each companion has a different set of stats that will boost one or more of the attributes of your setup, so you will probably (eventually!) want to acquire more than one companion. The Detailed instructions for creating a companion page will explain more about the process of incubating a companion. You can also visit the companion section of the detailed table of contents to find links to all the pages with information about companions.
You can also purchase one or more cauldrons from Dr Grimely and her friends .... cauldrons are used when you are trying to trap some of the monster ghosts. Monster ghosts are more challenging to catch than normal ghosts, and you need help from other players to capture them.
The cauldrons that you can purchase here in Castle McCloud include:
|Cauldron|| Type of monster
|Original ghost monsters||5,000 £|
|Ghost dino monsters||5,000 £|
|Elemental monsters||5,000 £|
|Vampire lords and ladies||5,000 £|
|Knights of the round table||10,000 £|
|Red monsters||300,000 £|
Always review all of the information about a mechanism or magic circle ( or any other type of equipment) on its own page before purchasing. You can also compare a mechanism or magic circle with others on the mechanisms compared page or the magic circles compared page before purchasing. The information provided here is only a brief synopsis provided as a convenience and does not include many of the important details you should take into consideration.
