Bonfires took their name initially from the fires people were lighting to burn dead people's bones, creepy, but awesome spectacle isn't it?
No theft risk
There is no risk that the bonfire ghost will steal GTP (£££), XP, bait, or ghost plasma if you fail to catch it.
The bonfire ghost can be captured in Tier 2 of Burningham Castle, located in region 6, Central, but only after you have completed the combustion collection, and only if you have sufficient vintage attraction in your setup.
(You can only reach Tier 2 of Burningham Castle by completing a set of challenges in Tier 1, Burning Burningham Castle and capturing:
The bonfire ghost can also be captured in Rising Sun castle, in Tayside.
The bonfire ghost is resistant to mystic power.
Mystic-resistant ghosts have three primary types:
Brute force may also strengthen your setup when you are trying to catch the bonfire ghost.
The bonfire ghost is always on fire when you attract it.
The best way to catch the bonfire ghost is to have the extinguish stat in your setup, and for that extinguish stat to activate and dampen down that bonfire ghost so that your trap setup has a chance against it.
You can also catch the bonfire ghost if the brute force stat is in your setup and activates.
There is no way to catch the bonfire ghost with just a high raw power setup (and no extinguish or brute force) or with just a high mystic power setup (and no extinguish or brute force).
Keep your fire extinguisher ready!
The bonfire ghost has been known to occasionally drop the following types of ghost loot:
If you have the snowfall stat in your setup (because of an accessory, companion or contract with the stat on it), the bonfire ghost may occasionally and randomly drop you a snowflake as loot. Because these snowfall-driven drops are so dependent on a player's individual setup and cannot be relied upon, snowflake loot drops are not specifically included in the list above.
If you have the mockery stat in your setup (through the talent tree bonus or because of an accessory, companion or contract with the stat} you may occasionally have between 2 and 10 mocktails added to other loot drops from the bonfire ghost. Because these mockery drops are so dependent on a player's individual setup and cannot be relied upon, none of the mocktails are included in the loot list above. The entire list of possible mocktails that may be dropped is on the mocktails page.
Mockery stat drops can be distinguished from a normal loot drop as follows:
A standard loot drop of a mocktail 5x Cherry bomb A mockery stat-caused loot drop of a mocktail 5 Devil driver
Vintage connoisseur loot
If you have the vintage connoisseur stat in your setup (through an accessory, companion or contract with the stat} you may occasionally have between 2 and 10 bottles of a non-Nessy's loot potion or of Shadetouch blue or Shadetouch purple added to other loot drops from the bonfire ghost. Because these connoisseur drops are so dependent on a player's individual setup and cannot be relied upon, none of the non-Nessy's loot potions involved are included in the loot list above. The entire list of possible bottles that can be dropped is found on the non-Nessy's loot potions page.
Both normal drops of a particular non-Nessy's loot potion and connoisseur drops of a particular loot potion show the same way in your journal:
16 x Shadetouch purple (10 bonus loot)
- 17 February 2016: The bonfire ghost was first seen in Virtual Scotland'.
- 14 May 2018: The bonfire ghost began to appear in Rising Sun castle.
